Basic Must-Have Shoes for Women

Just think of all the styles, shapes, and colors of shoes that are available for women. There are shoes which are appropriate for work, play or evening wear, and shoes somewhere in between, and women seem to want many shoes from each category. But when a special event is forthcoming, women never seem to have the proper pair of shoes. Perhaps the following ideas will help you solve that little dilemma.

When you need to attend an early business dinner, special business meeting or even a funeral, a shoe such as a strappy sandal seems inappropriate. The best shoes would probably be a low heeled, comfortable black pump. In fact, these shoes are basically a staple in any woman's wardrobe.

Another shoe to add to your "basic pump" collection is a pair of neutral color (beige, tan) low heeled pumps, as they simply will go with everything for which you could not wear a black pump. A side note: White pumps will not go with everything and they are not appropriate footwear during certain times of the year. Black or neutral (beige, tan, etc.) pumps, can be worn at any time of the year and when you have one neutral and one black pair of basic pumps, one of those two pair will go with whatever apparel you choose.

A classic everyday shoe for women is a semi-casual flat, one that you can wear with jeans or with nice slacks. This could be a stylish suede skimmer loafer or a nice leather loafer.

A must have shoe for more dressy occasions is a black high heeled dress shoe, but not too strappy or clunky,. Just a basic black sling-back sandal with a heel will do.

A "show stopper" type shoe would be high heeled dress shoes, such as a metallic, which can be worn with an outfit that just wouldn't look right with a black shoe. This shoe could be an attention grabbing silver evening sandal that would go well with pastel colors or white.
